I am Dr. Scott Williamson. My practice is devoted to individualized care in all aspects of Aesthetic (Cosmetic) and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. My focus is to customize each patient’s procedure to achieve their optimal Aesthetic and Functional result. Thus, I look forward to taking the time to hear and evaluate your concerns and situation, discuss the various options with their various benefits, disadvantages, and recovery, as well as, risks and potential complications, so as to devise a personalized care plan for you. In short, I strive to help you make the best choice for you, and if is surgery, then to precisely and expertly implement it.

I am a Plastic Surgeon with more than 20 yr experience working in Kelowna, British Columbia. I do a full spectrum of Plastic Surgery, and, in particular, specialize in microvascular surgery and complex reconstruction to restore body form and function and quality of life.

    Biography

    ​I earned a B.Sc. in Engineering/Biology (with distinction) from the University of New Brunswick in 1985. In 1989, I attained a Doctor of Medicine from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, graduating first in my class.  A rotating Internship at Rockyview General Hospital (University of Calgary) in Calgary, Alberta completed my basic medical training.

    I under took residency training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of British Columbia from 1990 – 1995. I obtained the highest standing in Canada upon completing the specialty examinations with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1995. In 1996 I was awarded the coveted Ross A. Tilley Memorial Fellowship, Canada’s only Plastic Surgery Fellowship. I then continued my education with advanced fellowship training at the University of British Columbia, the University of Toronto and the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario further specializing in Cosmetic Surgery, Cancer Reconstruction and Hand Surgery. In 2000, I completed the American Board of Plastic Surgery Diplomat certification and later attained re-certification in 2009

     In 1997, I entered practice in Kelowna, joining the medical community as a fully qualified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon on staff at the Kelowna General Hospital, Okanagan Health Surgical Centre, Summerland General Hospital and Vernon Jubilee Hospital. My dedication and surgical skills have since earned me the respect of my colleagues and co–workers.

    I am an Associate Professor of the University of British Columbia Division of Plastic Surgery and am actively involved in resident education and research. I am also a Director on the board of the Okanagan Health Surgical Centre. I am a past director of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons and am a Past President of the Northwest Society of Plastic Surgeons (the only combined Canadian American Plastic Surgery Society). I have been an invited expert speaker at many national and international scientific meetings. 

    I am a member in good standing of the Canadian and American Societies of Plastic Surgeons, am a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American College of Surgeons, and am a Diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgeons having met the requirements for Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery. 

    At the Okanagan Health Surgery Centre, I perform a complete range of Cosmetic and Aesthetic Surgical procedures with a specific focus on clinical excellence, safety and personalized patient care.
